For
my final project, I intend to do a collection of poems, examining the nature of
anxiety, and the way in which it relates to both desires that focus internally
(the self as being or becoming something in particular) as well as to desires
that focus externally (the self as achieving or arriving at something in
particular, or in relating to the external world in a particular way). I also
intend to continue to examine the possibilities of fractured lines, and the use
of whitespace to create a visual effect that is related to the material
(content based?) effects of the poetry. For the former, see an example in my
poem “Weather Patterns”; for the latter, see “starlight”. Both will likely be
included in the final collection, although not in their original forms. Any and all feedback welcomed!
also, type of thing im talking about from starlight, which idk if was given to the class:
"
fingertips
at the edges of a crease, turning
around and
under
an
unseen
chin,
"
