Dear Lannan Fellows,
Lets first try an in-class writing assignment. On the right-hand side of this blog, you will something called "Pages" (where the course syllabus is listed). click on "Poem About A Story." Read this document (especially the poems!) and try writing your own "poem about a story." This poem will be in your own voice, but it can be written in first, second, or third-person. It should refer to something that happened, but not tell the whole story. We'll post them by 4:30 p.m.
Option #2: I sent via email a poem by Emily Yoon, along with a message about how to use this poem as another option for this assignment. Please read that. I have also posted it under "Pages" here. You may choose either prompt.
Best,
Carolyn Forché
